How We Work

Smaller runs, complex parts and assemblies, and just-in-time delivery.

You have specific needs most shops aren’t built to support.

Whether you’re launching something new or keeping something essential running, you know that long lead times, missing documentation, and unreliable delivery aren’t just frustrating, they can stall the whole program.

You need a shop that can roll with incomplete information, adapt when the scope shifts, and keep your project moving without having to manage every step. That’s exactly how we’ve built DDM: flexible processes, fast changeovers, practical problem-solving, and a dedicated Program Manager who becomes a deep subject matter expert on your part library from quote to delivery.

Why trust DDM with your project?

Plastics + Metals + VMI
Under One Roof

Vacuum forming, 3D printing, machining, fabrication, and assembly all in sync means fewer vendors to manage, faster decisions, and a dedicated partner that understands the full scope.

Practical Problem-Solving Approach

We use the right process for the job, including 3D printing where it makes sense, to speed up tooling, support prototyping, reduce setup drag, and keep complex projects moving.

Scanning and Reverse Engineering

Legacy parts don’t always come with clean documentation. We can work from existing components and rebuild the manufacturing process to keep your older equipment and vehicles running longer.

Dedicated Program Manager + Proactive Communication

You shouldn’t have to chase every update or wonder where your parts stand. We ask better questions up front, communicate promptly and clearly, and hold ourselves accountable from quote to delivery.

Optimized for Low-to-Mid
Volume Work

A few parts to a few hundred. Repeat orders over time. We’ve optimized our setup times, changeovers, and project planning around smaller runs of parts, kits, and assemblies that still need to move with urgency.

Just-in-Time Components, Kits & Assemblies

Need a shipset delivered over several months? Catalog parts produced and held for release? Assemblies kitted by schedule? We’re here to support recurring demand without forcing you to take everything at once.

What capabilities do we add to your program?

CNC Milling & Turning

Our machining capacity includes 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis mills, and multi-axis lathes for simple to complex components, tight features, and a range of materials including metals, plastics, and foam.

Vacuum Forming

Our thermoforming roots run deep. With multiple vacuum forming machines, we produce aircraft interior components, plastic parts, and formed assemblies for demanding environments.

Quality & Inspection

With stationary and mobile CMM capability, 3D scanning, and AS9102 first article inspections, DDM verifies critical dimensions with the discipline demanding programs require.

Assembly, Kitting & Scheduled Delivery

Beyond individual parts, we build subassemblies, kits, shipsets, and recurring releases so you can receive exactly what you need when you need it.

Transit Interior Monuments

For customer design reviews, fit tests, or sled testing using a variety of materials and methods, DDM can fabricate the elements that are most critical to your program.

Pattern & Mold Making

DDM creates large accurate patterns and molds for fiberglass and carbon fiber layups, enabling you to move straight into the work you’re best at: producing beautiful composite parts.
