Fun, fast-moving work for people who take pride in what they build.
Looking for a career in North Carolina that keeps you moving?
DDM is a high-performance manufacturing company built for people who want more than stationary, mindless work.
We make real parts for aircrafts, motorsports, recreation, defense, and more – stuff that matters. We use cool technology like robots and machines for the monotony so our people can use their brains. And we take care of our team. We want you to have a good life and provide for your family.
If you like working with your hands, solving problems, learning new skills, and being around people who take their work seriously without taking themselves too seriously, you might fit in here!
One recent example was helping NC State and Duke build the Formula SAE cars that they raced in the national collegiate competition at Michigan International Speedway. Both teams raced in the internal combustion category, and if you look closely, you’ll see the DDM logo on the nose of each car.
Together, our team contributed about $30,000 in services and materials to help make it happen. NC State finished 22nd and Duke finished 30th out of a field of 130 teams — strong showings from two groups of future engineers who are already building, testing, and competing at a high level.
We don’t do work like this because it guarantees a marketing return. We do it because manufacturing should create momentum beyond our own shop. Whether we’re supporting student race teams, building an apprentice and internship program with local tech schools, or finding new ways to get younger people excited about this industry, we’re proud to use our skills, knowledge, and resources to help the next generation build what’s next.
We get to make sick stuff for good causes.
What We’re Looking For
We don’t care where you came from. We care how you work.
You take pride in tight tolerances.
You know the difference between a part that passes inspection and a part that’s genuinely right. That matters here.
You ask questions before you cut.
If a drawing looks off or you don’t understand, you say something. We’d rather catch it at the drawing than after the setup.
You want to grow, not just show up.
Access to advanced equipment, training, and programs that demand more. If that sounds like a challenge, good.
You want to be part of something bigger.
Not just a number on a headcount. The team at DDM is small, growing fast, and building something real.
Answers to common questions about working here:
-
People who do well here are detail-oriented, fast-moving, and motivated to keep getting better. We look for team players who care about the customer, take pride in the work, and understand that every part we make has to help someone else keep moving.
-
Yes. DDM offers a benefits package that includes a 401(k) match, PTO, paid holidays, and flexible start times.
-
Right now, DDM runs one shift. As the business grows, we expect to expand into an extended shift or possibly two shifts so we can keep supporting more customers and create more opportunities for the team.
-
The work here stays interesting. DDM supports a wide mix of industries, materials, parts, and processes, so you are not stuck making the same thing every day. We are also a growing business, which means there is real room for professional growth — especially as we continue investing in automation, robotics, and cobots.
-
Not always. Cultural fit matters most. We are willing to train the right person, but you need technical aptitude, motivation, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. If you care about doing good work and getting better, there may be a path for you here.
-
There is room to grow as DDM grows. Shop technicians can develop into machine technicians or machinists. Machinists can move toward design, programming, or shop supervision. Programmers may grow into program management or quoting roles. The goal is to help motivated people build real careers, not just fill jobs.
